Contemporary philosophy

Institute of History and Philosophy of Al Taha University

Introduction

The philosophy of every civilization is the most important platform for the emergence of rationality and its thought throughout history. The essence of any culture depends on the mastery and originality of its intellectual foundations and, in general, on the originality of its philosophy. The up-to-date and efficient presentation of new scientific theories also depends on knowing the bases and philosophical heritage of societies. On the other hand, the growth of knowledge and philosophy takes place cumulatively and in stages, and the scientific achievements of philosophers and scientists in each period are based on the achievements of the thinkers of previous periods, and of course, according to the time of rereading and with the addition of new topics and materials, knowledge and Human thinking is gradually improving. Based on this, it can be said that the growth of knowledge and thought in each period depends on the knowledge of scientific and philosophical foundations and the achievements of philosophers and scientists of the past in each civilization period. In the meantime, Islamic philosophy, benefiting from the Qur'an and the teachings of the infallibles, may God's prayers and peace be upon them, is the main and most important platform for the emergence of pure Islamic thought and thought. The final vision of the activities of this group is to show that philosophy in the Islamic world is a dynamic thought and has a distinct identity from philosophy in the West, philosophy in India, or philosophy in Iran. Philosophy in the Islamic world, if it is expressed in terms of current issues, can answer the questions and needs of today's human societies.
The research topics of this group are: philosophy of Islamic philosophy, additional philosophies, applied philosophy, interdisciplinary philosophies, comparative philosophy, epistemology, cyber philosophy, philosophy of cognitive science, philosophy of artificial intelligence, cognitive neuroscience, cognitive psychology, cognitive anthropology, philosophy of mind.
